Nine-year-old Adonis and his friend, 10-year-old JC, recently struck up a friendship with ice cream shop owner Aaron Roesch after he opened "Aunt Jamie's" near their home in St. Louis about a month ago.

The two boys had made it a habit to hang out at the shop, getting a sweet treat and doing their homework after school. They were going there again last week when they saw that something wasn't right. The shop was closed, but there was someone inside.

Adonis told Fox2,

We came out here to try to buy some ice cream, and his window was just shattered. So we just started hearing noise, and I said, ‘Who's in here?'

The 9-year-old called the shop's owner, and when he didn't answer, he called the police. The boys stayed by the shop until the police arrived.

I'd say those kids earned themselves an ice cream cone!

The shop owner, Aaron Roesch, was grateful to the kids for their quick action to call for help, telling Fox2,

If I didn't have a friendship with these kids, that guy would have walked away scot-free.

He would have gotten away with it too, if it weren't for those dang kids!

The boys are now being called heroes, but as ten-year-old JC, says,

We're like his little buddies.

Definitely the type of little buddies you want to have around.
