Not the Bee launched one year ago today, and holy cow, what a ride it has been
· Sep 1, 2021 ·

One year ago today, September 1, 2020, Dan Dillon, Seth Dillon, and myself launched Not the Bee.

We had a feeling it would be big, not gonna lie.

365 days and 100 million page views later, here we are.

Not the Bee has had such a impact in such a short time that we've found ourselves at times overwhelmed. But we just keep working, keep trying to do the next right thing, keep trusting God with the influence he has given us. We just continue trying to do our best. We've almost certainly messed up at times and will almost certainly do so again, but I assure you we have done our very best, and will continue to do so. We have thrown our lives into this thing.

It's hard to fathom launching a site and having it notch 100 million page views, 172,000 Facebook followers, 323,000 Instagram followers, and 144,000 Twitter followers in its first year. All organic. No paid marketing (we planned to do that but never got around to it lol).

It's insane and we are so grateful.

One of the most special pieces of NTB is our community of subscribers. We have a whole social network here which, functionally, rivals any on the internet. Dan and his team of developers are straight up magicians. And the thousands of people who have embraced NTB Social have made it into the greatest and most welcoming virtual hangout spot you could ever hope for on this crazy internet. Groups of subscribers even meet up in-person now — NTB real-life gatherings have become a thing. Which is pretty dang cool.

Our amazing team of writers and editors — Joel Abbott, Peter Heck, Planet Moron, Daniel Payne, Jeffrey Swindoll, Doc Holliday, Cardinal Pritchard, Harris Rigby, Harriet Rigby, Jesse James, Jessica Swietoniowski, Hamilton Porter, Holly Ash, Commodore Vanderbilt, and John Knox — are the best in the business and absolute warriors.

It certainly has been quite a journey so far.

We want to thank you all, readers and subscribers, so much, for making Not the Bee a part of your life.

We have lots of new stuff planned.

We're just getting started.
