Oh, Canada.
Yes, Nova Scotians are banned from entering the woods. Period. For any reason whatsoever.
From the CBC:
Camping in campgrounds is still permitted, but trail systems through woods are off-limits under the new rules.
The rules are in place for provincial Crown land until Oct. 15 or until weather conditions allow them to be lifted.
The fine for violating the ban is $25,000.
$25,000 just for existing in the woods.
Going on a walk without matches, without a lighter, and without any way to start a fire is a punishable offense now.
Landowners are being encouraged to voluntarily follow the same restrictions on their private land to minimize the risk of wildfires. While landowners will not face a fine for activities such as hiking in their own woods, any guest of theirs who is found violating the ban could be fined.
Well, that's a relief. Canada won't fine you for walking in your own woods.
But if you visit a friend and go into their woods, you're in big, big trouble.

Look out, Canadians.
You never know who might be patrolling the forests now.
