NOW: Ukraine formally applies for NATO membership, which Putin called his "red line"

This is not good, friends.

Let journalist Greg Price explain:

Applying for NATO membership means all NATO countries would be required to go to war to protect another nation. Since Ukraine is currently at war with Russia, we would immediately be at war with Russia as a default.

From the Daily Wire story:

"Ukraine was and remains a leader in negotiation efforts. It was our state that always offered Russia to reach an agreement on coexistence on equal, honest, decent and fair terms," Zelensky said in a video message. "It is obvious that this is impossible with this Russian president. He does not know what dignity and honesty are. Therefore, we are ready for a dialogue with Russia, but already with another president of Russia."

Russian President Vladimir Putin officially revealed on Friday that he would annex the Donetsk, Luhansk, Kherson, and Zaporizhzhia regions of Ukraine after residents voted to join his nation. The referendum, which local Ukrainian officials said was coerced by Russian soldiers, took place earlier this week, with results in each region appearing to be strikingly lopsided in favor of Russia.

You can denounce Russia and also denounce Ukraine's membership into NATO. Both countries are extremely corrupt, even if Russia is the aggressor. Unlike what the people who post Ukrainian flags in their bio think, there is nuance in navigating the moral cesspool of politics.

In fact, to ascertain what is actually right and wrong in a world where both the politicians and the media lie and have extensive financial interests in a field of conflict, nuance is required. Wisdom is proved right by all her children.

If you recall, Putin said the West's expansion of influence into Ukraine โ€“ and its intent to incorporate Ukraine into NATO, which was vigorously denied by NATO earlier this year โ€“ was a major impetus for his invasion.

He also said that formal NATO membership of Ukraine was his "red line."

When it comes to a Cold War superpower that has intercontinental nukes, I fear we may learn what the "red line" actually means if this membership becomes official.
