Brian Cole Jr., the anarchist currently in custody, was apparently obsessed with My Little Pony.

Apparently, this dude shared My Little Pony artwork, wrote songs about My Little Pony, and even wrote some disturbing fan-fic about the show.

Journalists tracked down some online profiles associated with Cole's email and phone number.

Under the user name iDeltaVelocity, Cole reportedly posted an insane amount of My Little Pony art to one forum.

Here's a little sampling:

He also wrote some horror fan fiction that includes passages like this:

Applebloom's eyes snapped open as she sat up in her bed, panting heavily and sweat dripping from her red mane […] The skeletons, the zombified ponies rising up from the ground, their decaying bodies, rotting flesh sliding off from their bones. She buried her face in her hooves, crying silently at the horrible images that inhabited her mind.

Adult male My Little Pony fans, often referred to as "Bronies," have an entire subculture dedicated to them:

Alex Clark of Turning Point had a pretty good take on this whole thing:

The Brony-to-pedo-terrorist pipeline is actually an observable phenomenon.

It reminds us of the guy who killed Charlie Kirk:

...and the guy who tried to kill Trump.

So far, no official motive has been released for the pipe bomb attack. He has confessed to police and is being charged with transporting an explosive device across state lines with the intent to kill, injure, and damage to property.
