Big Tech isn't trying to take over the world you crazy conspiracy theor— Oh...

Well, that's unsettling.

Nevada Gov. Steve Sisolak has a plan to get more tech companies to his state, and it basically boils down to letting them form their own little governments, which...

😳

YEAH.

According to a draft of the proposed legislation that the Las Vegas Review-Journal got their hands on, Nevada wants to form what they call "Innovation Zones." These would allow big tech companies to build their massive campuses in the state and,

"effectively form separate local governments in Nevada, governments that would carry the same authority as a county, including the ability to impose taxes, form school districts and justice courts and provide government services, to name a few duties."

Imagine getting cancelled in Amazon court!

Or getting fact-checked IRL by Facebook!

Obviously, not just ANYONE could come in and form their own government. You gotta have $$$.

Like Blockchains, LLC, who is specifically identified in the proposed legislation. They purchased nearly 67,000 acres of undeveloped, uninhabited land in Storey County for $170 million, back in 2018. They gots themselves some plaaaaans.

Oh, also, completely unrelated... Blockchains, LLC donated a significant sum to the PAC that helped get Sisolak into office.

NBD. 😅

Does anyone else feel like this is an absolutely BONKERS idea?

Big Tech billionaires already control our digital lives, imagine what happens once they get a taste of controlling our physical lives as well.

And don't think for a second their ambitions don't reach that high.
