Ohio secretary of state says he's found hundreds of foreigners who have already started to vote in the 2024 election

Move along! Nothing to see here!

Ohio Secretary of State Frank LaRose announced he is auditing Ohio's voter rolls, and what he has already found is concerning: 597 "noncitizens" (AKA foreigners) are registered to vote, and 138 noncitizens who have already voted illegally.

LaRose said in a press release:

'I'm duty-bound to make sure people who haven't yet earned citizenship in this country do not vote in our elections,' said Secretary LaRose. 'We've so far identified 597 individuals who've registered to vote in Ohio despite not being citizens of the United States, as our state constitution requires. The evidence includes 138 individuals who appear to have cast a ballot in an Ohio election during the time state and federal records show they lacked citizenship status. The law requires me to refer these individuals to the attorney general, and that's what we're doing today.'

The Ohio audit also resulted in the removal of 154,995 registrations confirmed to be abandoned and inactive, preventing them from being exploited by activist groups and illegal harvesters.

While this is an encouraging sign for Ohio and other states like Alabama and Texas which have conducted similar audits, it doesn't seem to bode well for the election, according to many who reacted to the story:

If this is what we're finding in Republican-run states, imagine what's going on in margin-thin swing states like Pennsylvania, Michigan, Wisconsin, and Arizona.
