The "We're With Colbert" protest had about as much turnout as one of his late night shows, though arguably, it was more funny.
According to the New York Post, about 20 people showed up on Sunday - to the CBS Broadcast Center in Manhattan! - to protest the failing comedian's firing after CBS reported he was losing the network $40 million per year.
That's a far cry from the hundred or so white liberals who showed up at a protest last week!
The few who were at the newest protest blamed President Trump for the comedian's firing.
'Our country is not perfect, never has been,' said the event's organizer, who would only identify himself as Matt and said his nickname is 'Slim.'
'But we've always had the First Amendment, and now Mango Mussolini is trying to take that from us,' he said.
Let's be fair to Colbert here.
It is Trump's fault, at least tertiarily.
Trump Derangement Syndrome is a serious condition, and the symptoms often include alienating others, which becomes even more problematic if your job is to bring in viewers and keep your advertisers happy.
Jay Leno even called him a fool for being such a partisan:
'Why shoot for just half an audience all the time? You know, why not try to get the whole?' Leno, 75, told Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation CEO David Trulio during a recent interview.
'I don't understand why you would alienate one particular group, you know, or just don't do it at all,' the former "Tonight Show" host said. 'I'm not saying you have to throw your support or whatever, but just do what's funny.'
Jay Leno averaged 5.7 million viewers every night, compared to Colbert who was pulling about 2.42 million when he was canceled.
Clearly, from Colbert's dismal numbers, it was more than half his potential audience that didn't find his partisan rants funny!
