Oregon high school had kids write about their sexual fantasies, and apparently it was part of a statewide curriculum

Alright, we've got to shut down the public school system till we figure out what the heck is going on.

Please, read this prompt and then tell me how the heck this is supposed to be appropriate for kids in schools.

[Warning: Sexual Content]

For those students who were absent, you will write a short story of a paragraph or two. This story is a sexual fantasy that will have NO penetration of any kind or oral sex (no way of passing an STI. You will choose 3 items (romantic music, candles, massage oil, feather, feather boa, flavored syrup, etc.) to use in your story. Your story should show that you can show and receive loving physical affection without having sex.

From local news in Oregon:

A screenshot of an assignment given to students at Churchill High School has parents up in arms. In it, a teacher asks students who were absent to "write a short story of a paragraph or two […about] a sexual fantasy that will have NO penetration of any kind or oral sex (no way of passing an STI)." The assignment tells students to pick three items to use in their story, and gives examples of romantic music, candles, massage oils, or flavored syrup. It summarizes the assignment by saying, "Your story should show that you can show and receive loving physical affection without having sex."

This is for high schoolers to write and turn in to adult teachers.

The actual heck??

School officials tell us they are aware of the concerns over the assignment for Churchill's Health 2 - Human Sexuality course. Eugene School District 4 said their high school team and their curriculum team are reviewing the curriculum. The curriculum is called "OWL," which stands for "Our Whole Lives." 4J officials said the OWL curriculum is used all over Oregon in many school districts. But, for now, the assignment has been removed from the syllabus and it won't be a part of students' grades.

This ain't about kids' health. It's about sexualizing minors and it's about the creepy adult teachers who read this erotica pornography written by underage youth under the guise of "health class."

I don't want to even think about who is "grading" this smut they're forcing KIDS to write about.

That person belongs in jail and every school administrator who approved of this curriculum needs to be in the next cell.

The OWL curriculum was adopted in 2016 by the 4J school district. In 2018, the district held parent nights to provide access to the curriculum. Also, district officials said that at the start of each term, parents are provided a syllabus with a chance to opt their student out. District officials said they are working to make sure that happened this year.

It's perverted and disgusting and, apparently, it's been happening since 2016 (7 years!) in Oregon before anyone called it out.

I wonder what else the teacher who assigned has on the ol' hard drive.
