Oregon woman in "Nana's Sweet Treats" van arrested for siphoning gas while smoking ... and setting everything around her on fire

Oregon woman Jennifer Denise Holmes, 47, can normally be seen driving a bakery van with the name "Nana's Sweet Treats" on the side.

But you know, with this economy, baked goods just weren't earning enough dough for old Nana to get by, much less fill the tank on the van. So, when Holmes saw a U-Haul parked at the Douglas County Farmers Co-Op, she decided to siphon some fuel.

Once she sucked some gasoline out and established the vacuum on the high end of the siphon and the gasoline was flowing, she decided to pass the time smoking a cigarette.

At 5:30 AM, the police were notified that there was a fire near the Co-Op.

The fire had fully engulfed the U-Haul and spread to a second van. Then the driveline burned out, and the flaming van rolled away to set some trees on fire.

I guess this is the sort of scenario where the phrase "that plan went up in flames" comes from.

Nana's bakery truck wasn't around when the police got there, but they spotted it leaving the area on nearby security footage, and Holmes confessed to the crime.

She was arrested and charged with second-degree arson, first-degree criminal mischief, and reckless burning.

If you ordered something from Nana, I think it might be a while before you get it!!
