More sports drama for you here. Remember this clip from Monday?
That's Phillies outfielder Bryce Harper getting caught in a double play to end game two.
After the game, however, Atlanta shortstop Orlando Arcia apparently said to his teammates, "Attaboy Harper," in a sort of trolling way, since Harper essentially lost the game for Philadelphia even though he almost timed the play perfectly and made it back to first.
Arcia's "atta boy" comment made its way out of the Atlanta clubhouse and to the general public, causing Bryce Harper, during both homers in Wednesday night's Phillies victory (10-2!), to give Arcia the stare down.
(Side note: I think Arcia's comment lit a fire under Harper and the rest of the Phillies team.)
Phillies fans even made a shirt out of this:
Fast forward to Thursday night in Philadelphia, Atlanta on the ropes, down 2-1 in a five-game series, and here's what Arcia was busy doing in the dugout:
I'm sorry, but what is he thinking here? This is just awful, and it makes Arcia out to be quite the dummy. There's no room for this stuff in baseball, and I honestly hope Atlanta gets rid of that guy.
No surprises here: Atlanta eventually lost the game and the series along with it. And now everyone will talk about this little beef for the rest of the postseason.
A huge "come on, man" moment for Arcia and the Braves.
