Asking tall people to reach things is now a microaggression
· Jan 4, 2025 · NottheBee.com

In the never-ending quest to find new and exciting things to be offended by, the microaggression crowd has found their latest source of outrage.

Let's quick define microaggression for those of you who don't use this ridiculous word:

A statement, action, or incident regarded as an instance of indirect, subtle, or unintentional discrimination against members of a marginalized group such as a racial or ethnic minority.

Okay, now let's see the latest microaggression we're here to talk about: Asking tall people to reach things that are up high.

Yes, this is a real post from Threads, and this lady is a "certified life coach." She's only 5'10", which makes this all the more confusing.

Anyhow, I know tall people who have experienced this before, and I've heard mixed reviews on how they feel about it. I wouldn't say any of them are as offended as the woman above, but it does sound like it gets annoying after a while. It also sounds like many of my tall friends actually enjoy being used by short people, as it makes them feel slightly superior.

Anyhow, let's look at some reactions from the internet.

Jeff Charles, news editor at Townhall and a self-described "6'3 male" - don't you hate it when people boast? - said that he'd experienced this "display of oppression," and called for America to "be better".

Preach, Jeff.

Preach.

Of course, there are other tall people out there who aren't as fragile - or at least pretending to be as fragile - as some of these extra-large snowflakes.

Here's the thing, tall people: You're tall. Some of us are not. And most of us don't have time to go find an employee to grab those Swiffer mats from the top shelf when there's already a freakishly tall person standing nearby who is certainly fit for the task.

If you don't want to help a random stranger at the store, then you're gonna have to turn into one of those people who wear AirPods when they shop.

Pretty easy solution, don't you think?
