The incident, which happened on May 11 at around 11.20am, shows the man on a bicycle cruising along a sidewalk in Fresno, California, when suddenly a woman driving a white Honda, said to be a Dollar General employee by the owner of the camera, swerved into the man and knocked him off his bike.
The impact warped the bicycle's front wheel and he went down, causing the goods in the bicycle basket, which included sodas and bags of chips, to scatter onto a driveway.
Not a great idea to do this. She could have pretty easily killed the guy. He might be a scumbag but shoplifting probably shouldn't carry a death sentence.
She could also face significant legal penalties for this little stunt. Law enforcement doesn't like vigilantes. That goes doubly so — triply so — in California.
Still. It's a strong example of how bad the shoplifting crisis is getting out there.
If police don't do more to stop it, expect more of this.
