A Russian NHL player, Ivan Provorov, refused to participate in a pregame warmup yesterday that would feature an LGBT pride theme because that lifestyle goes against his religious beliefs.
And for this, he is called a homophobe, a bigot, and essentially the worst person ever.
Just because he doesn't want to endorse the LGBTQ religion.
Even after his team won the game, all the press wanted to talk about was his religious stance.
The dude is just there to play hockey. He's a Russian Orthodox Christian, he doesn't endorse deviant lifestyles, but he's not there to preach, or condemn, or anything.
He just didn't want to participate in the warmups because of the rainbow jerseys.
