A video captured on Ring video shows two little piggies fighting off a bear โ and those little piggies won!
A black bear in Connecticut was caught on camera climbing over a fence into a pen holding two Vietnamese pot-bellied pigs.
I guess the bear thought that he (yes, I'm assuming his gender, sue me) could take them and have a quick snack. He is a bear after all... but don't you ever underestimate a pig faced with a threat!
Once the bear got into the pen to attack Mary, (the white female pig) she immediately charged at him.
He messed with the wrong pig.
And then to the surprise of the owners, Kevin David and Rebecca Shaw, Hammy (the brown male pig) came out as back up and tussled with the bear.
"I am very proud of them because Hammy, the little one especially, he's afraid of his own shadow and the way he came charging out when he seen Mary tussling with the bear," Shaw told NBC Connecticut. "He was like, โOh no, no way, get out.'"
And they say chivalry is dead.
"They're fine," David told WTNH, the ABC station in New Haven. "They're some heavy pigs and we're pretty sure that bear is still a cub."
David actually doesn't believe the bear was trying to attack the pigs, but instead was only trying to go after what Mary was digging for at that moment.
Even if the bear wasn't trying to make the pigs his snack, I think there was still a lesson for the young cub to learn.
