Seriously — what the heck is happening with all these aircraft crashes recently?
Three people have reportedly been killed in a small plane has crashed near Boca Raton Airport in Florida. ...
Videos of the scene showed smoke billowing from several fires at the side of a highway lined with palm trees.
The aircraft had reported mechanical issues at around 10.17am, according to BocaNewsNow.
Video and photos of the horrific incident rolled in on social media on Friday morning:
The aircraft reportedly "declared an emergency to air traffic control due to loss of rudder control after takeoff," with the pilot circling repeatedly in an attempt to land the plane.
FlightRadar data shows the plane making numerous loops prior to the crash:
The crash comes less than 24 hours after another fatal air incident in New York City:
And of course, the incident in January when dozens died after a crash over D.C. airspace:
Still, we can feel saturated with air crash incidents recently, it's worth noting that the numbers so far this year aren't notably higher than other years:
Still crazy and tragic when it happens, though.
