The "Field of Dreams" game went off last night and it was the stuff dreams are made of. If you are even a tiny bit of a baseball fan and you've seen the movie (read: if you are an American), the intro alone might just choke you up:
There are so many ways this event could have gone wrong, or just turned out straight-up corny. And I don't even want to imagine the logistics of setting up and tearing down a national broadcast of two MLB teams in some random cornfield in the middle of nowhere (Dyersville, Iowa).
Somehow they made it happen.
Whether you've seen the movie or not, or whether you're a baseball fan or not, the utter uniqueness of this event is something to behold.
If you want, you can take a deep dive into this unfathomably nostalgic night with Fox Sports' report of the "Sight & Sounds."
But we're not done here yet: That's right, the night ended in true "instant classic" fashion as the Chicago White Sox beat the New York Yankees with a walk-off home run!
Perfection.
