Police have arrested a man for the murder of Tupac Shakur and, no, it's not Donald Trump.

The Associated Press is reporting that Las Vegas police have arrested Duane "Keffe D" Davis on Friday morning.

Two people close to the police department have told the AP that Davis was arrested on "suspicion of murder" in the 1996 cold case.

Police searched Davis' house 2 months ago looking for evidence in the Shakur case.

Police were looking for items "concerning the murder of Tupac Shakur, according to the warrant. They collected multiple computers, a cellphone and hard drive, a Vibe magazine that featured Shakur, several .40-caliber bullets, two "tubs containing photographs" and a copy of Davis' memoir.

Davis has admitted he was in the car with the shooter and he has also admitted in a past interview that he knew who killed Shakur.

According to a Los Angeles investigator who wrote a book on the Tupac killing, Davis' arrest makes sense for the case. He also says that Davis' 2019 memoir may have given the Las Vegas police just enough to go on to reach this point in the investigation.

Rolling Stone notes:

Davis, in essence, signed his own arrest warrant in recent years following the release of his memoir Compton Street Legend, which detailed the Crips member's alleged involvement in Shakur's murder. "The infamous Suge Knight, former Death Row Records CEO [who was in Shakur's vehicle], and I are the only living eyewitnesses to the deadly confrontation on the Las Vegas strip between the occupants of our two vehicles," Davis bragged in the description of the book's Amazon listing.

I hope the book sales were worth it!
