Big trouble for Biden: Fewer than 3 in 10 young voters approve of his performance as president; worst of any demographic

Online polling by the Economist and YouGov seems to indicate young voters are abandoning President Joe Biden.

The Washington Examiner reports from the recently released poll:

  • "3 in 10 adults under the age of 30 approve of Biden's job performance"
  • "net negative 21 approval rating" with adults under the age 30, which is the "worst among any age group"
  • "net negative 17 rating among people aged between 30 and 44"

Pollster David Paleologos described young voters as a "quiet force" who are more engaged when "polarizing figures" are in the picture.

"It's going to take a lot to keep young voters engaged and active in the midterm elections," he said.

Marquette Law School poll director Charles Franklin also noted about the poll that it was "interesting" that 1 in 5 adults under 30 said they have no opinion of Biden and that it "suggests some disengagement among the young [he] hadn't suspected."

"The Economist-YouGov polling is not an outlier, aligning with Quinnipiac University data," the Washington Examiner reports. "In Quinnipiac's first national survey of Biden's presidency in February, 18- to 34-year-olds gave him a net 12 approval rating while he scored a net 15 rating from 35- to 49-year-olds. That plummeted to a net negative 10 among the former and a negative 21 with the latter last month."

Not looking good for Biden!
