This is a real thing that a real person shared to the internet, really thinking it was cool and virtuous:

I used a screenshot so I could edit the colorful words but the tweet is still up. And no, it's not a joke.

Look, I'm not trying to be overly critical here, so don't yell at Harambe. You know exactly what I am saying. It's bad enough that this lady took all these ridiculous steps to get on a plane. You TAPED the first of THREE masks to your FACE, did you? Even though you have been vaxxed three dozen times and have natural immunity? K. It's a (sorta) free country. You see all kinds of weird stuff at airports, I guess.

But to take a selfie and post it on social media like this, all proud of it, broadcasting to the world your nonsensical Covid-paranoid wokeness as though it's virtue and not delusion? Well that's just insane.

I didn't post this publicly -- this lady did. She's actually bragging about what she's doing, for some reason.

If you ask me, stuff like this is a troubling sign of where we've gotten as a society. On several fronts.
