Poll shows BIPARTISAN support for Florida's Parental Rights in Education Bill when told what it actually says

Would ya look at that?

A recent poll shows a majority of Americans, regardless of race, age, or political affiliation, support Florida's "Parental Rights in Education" bill.

The Daily Wire surveyed 1,000 persons (37% Democrat, 32% Republican, and 31% Independent) over the weekend. Participants were asked to respond to the actual wording of the bill:

"Below is a passage from a new state education law," the survey said.

"Please indicate whether you support or oppose it. ‘Classroom instruction by school personnel or third parties on sexual orientation or gender identity may not occur in kindergarten through third grade or in a manner that is not age appropriate or developmentally appropriate for students in accordance with state standards.'"

Here are some highlights reported by Daily Wire, which show most people support the bill when told what it actually says:

  • More than 6 in 10 Americans (64%) support the Florida bill's ban on classroom instructions on sexual orientation and gender identity in grades K-3, or at any level if it is not presented in a manner that is age or developmentally appropriate. Twenty-one percent said they oppose the bill.
  • The Florida measure is backed by 69% of Republicans, 62% of Democrats, and 57% of Independents. There were also no notable differences among whites (63%), blacks (66%), and Latinos (62%) or by age.
  • 68% of parents support the Florida bill's classroom instruction regulations.

Participants were asked additional questions on issues related to the bill and the bipartisan support continued:

  • "A clear majority of Americans (65%), including 69% of parents, say it is "inappropriate" for teachers to instruct students in grades K-3 on sexual orientations while 21% say it is "appropriate," the Daily Wire reported.
  • "Similarly, 66% of the survey's respondents, including 69% of parents, said it is "inappropriate" for teachers to instruct K-3 students on various gender identities, while 20% say it is "appropriate."

The survey also shows that "misconceptions about the bill appear common" and I wonder if our mainstream media had anything to do with it:

  • 39% of Americans believe the Florida bill bans the word "gay" in Florida schools. This figure includes 45% of Democrats.
  • 22% of Americans, and nearly a third of Democrats, say the bill forces schools to "out" LGBTQ students to their families.
  • Meanwhile, 17% say the proposal prohibits Florida students from saying they have a gay parent or relative.

Our Benevolent Media Gatekeepers have inaccurately reported on the bill for weeks.

They gave it a fake name – the "Don't Say Gay" bill – which makes sense because if you read what the bill really says, then you might actually support it (i.e. common sense).

And they do this type of stuff all the time!
