Remember when it was rhetorical to ask "Is the Pope Catholic?"
We are all fundamentally good. Yes, there are some rogues and sinners, but the heart itself is good.
Ahh yes, the age-old Christian message that SOME have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, but most of us are good at heart. I think you'll find that in Opinions chapter 3.
Let's compare the pope's thoughts with the Prophet Jeremiah:
The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it? - Jeremiah 17:9
He was tossed such a softball! Or it would be for most Christian leaders and preachers. He was asked, "What gives you hope?" and he answered by saying "The nature of man" is what gives him hope?
Really?
Not, I don't know, Jesus and his work on the cross? Not that there is a perfect and loving God who desires to see all men saved in spite of our fallen and hopeless condition?
The pope was ratio'd on Twitter, which is a funny sentence to type.
Look at the words he says!
We are all fundamentally good.
"Fundamentally good." Meaning that we are created as good. It's our fundament. That's what we are.
But what did the psalmist say?
Behold, I was brought forth in iniquity, and in sin did my mother conceive me. - Psalm 51:5
Humans are conceived and born in sin.
That's the Bible. Man rebelled against God and our very nature is now fundamentally BAD!
Without that belief, Christ's death is pointless the good news of His resurrection is worthless. Why must I be saved if I am already a good person?
And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved. - Acts 4:12
Instead, Francis said there are "some rogues and sinners."
Some?
The Apostle Paul, ladies and gentlemen, to the church in Rome where Francis now sits as pontiff 2,000 years later:
There is no one righteous, not even one; there is no one who understands; there is no one who seeks God. All have turned away, they have together become worthless; there is no one who does good, not even one.
I'm not trying to single out Catholics here: As best I can, I am trying here to separate out Francis from the wider Catholic faith.
But what Francis is saying is the opposite of Christianity.
And the opposite of Christianity is ...
While you mull that over, here's what Francis thinks of conservatives:
We found the sinners! We found the rogues! It's conservative Americans! Those are the people the pope doesn't approve of! Those silly people who "cling to" things like the Bible!
Also, if you don't welcome in millions of unvetted migrants and fund NGOs that make a killing off of the crisis then you are not a good Catholic and not a good neighbor.
Anyway, I know I'm preaching to the choir here, but it's important to realize that what Francis is saying is not only heretical, but actively supporting the work of Satan.
How else would you describe the churches that burned across Canada?
How is it that the kicker for the Kansas City Chiefs knows more about Christ and the Gospel than the Apostolic See of Rome??
