Absolute evil.
Until today, there were only 40 people on federal death row. Now 37 of these top-level bad guys will receive the gift of taxpayer meals and healthcare in prison for the rest of their lives.
Biden, 82, gave the reprieve to the nation's most violent murderers โ nine of whom were found too dangerous to live after butchering fellow inmates โ as part of his effort at 'ensuring a fair and effective justice system,' the White House said ...
'But guided by my conscience and my experience as a public defender, chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee, Vice President, and now President, I am more convinced than ever that we must stop the use of the death penalty at the federal level. In good conscience, I cannot stand back and let a new administration resume executions that I halted.'
The "Devout Catholic" Joe Biden who supports abortion on demand has a real soft spot for ... murderers and child killers.
Never mind the feelings of the victims' families - what really matters are the feelings of men who rape and stab little girls. ๐
Among those receiving the holiday cheer is Thomas Sanders, who in 2010 kidnapped and then shot 12-year-Lexis Roberts four times and cut her throat in Louisiana โ days after the girl watched as Sanders murdered her mother on a road trip near the Grand Canyon.
Christmas also came early for Anthony Battle, who murdered an Atlanta prison guard with a hammer in 1994 while serving a life sentence for raping and murdering his wife, a US Marine, in 1987 at Camp Lejeune, NC.
Jorge Avila-Torrez sexually assaulted and stabbed to death two girls โ Laura Hobbs, 8, and Krystal Tobias, 9 โ who had been riding their bicycles in their neighborhood in a suburb north of Chicago in 2005.
Four years later, he strangled naval officer Amanda Snell, 20, inside her barrack in Arlington, Va.
As for the THREE men still facing death in federal prison? You may recognize their names.
Dylann Roof, who shot up a black church in Charleston, South Carolina, in 2015
Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, who bombed the 2013 Boston Marathon
Robert Bowers, who killed 11 people in 2018 at Pittsburgh's Tree of Life Synagogue
Meanwhile, meet a few more of the men who will be enjoying a warm Christmas meal with your tax money instead of going to meet their Maker. Newsweek has the full list; I've chosen a few to highlight their crimes.
Thomas Morocco Hager - "A drug dealer who [in 1993] fatally stabbed a young mother 82 times and left the bloody body in a bathtub to be found by her 1-year-old daughter." He has been on death row since 2007.
Brandon Michael Council - "Admitted to the FBI that he robbed the CresCom bank and shot the two employees multiple times, including an employee who was trying to hide under a desk." The 2017 murders/robbery rocked the small town of Conway, South Carolina.
Ricardo Sanchez, Jr. and Daniel Troya - "Shot and killed a mother, father, and their two young children" in 2006 after stopping their car on a Florida highway. The father in the car had been part of their cocaine trafficking operation.
Alejandro Enrique Ramies Umana - His arrest provided prosecutors "their biggest victory yet in a crackdown on the MS-13 enterprise." A member of the MS-13 gang, Umana killed two people at a Greensboro, North Carolina, restaurant who had insulted the gang.
Marvin Gabrion - Murdered a Michigan woman in 1997. He "killed Timmerman to prevent her from testifying that he had raped her." The woman's 11-month-old baby went missing and was never found.
Nine others among these perps were deemed "too dangerous to live after butchering fellow inmates." Prisoners like Anthony George Battle keep murdering other inmates without regard for life. One, Mark Isaac Snarr, used a shank to stab two prison guards, steal one of the guard's keys, then murder another inmate in his cell.
So ... What can we conclude about this move by Biden?
Well, I think the president is on a mission to see just how much damage he can do on his way out the door.
Meanwhile, here's the Associated Press about Trump:
There were 13 federal executions during Trump's first term, more than under any president in modern history ... Those were the first federal executions since 2003.
Juries convicted them. Judges sentenced them. But no one actually gave the victims' families and communities justice for 20 years until Trump came into office.
And now Biden is protecting the child rapists before Trump can see justice done again.
