It's a blessed miracle that everyone got out of this safely, because the whole situation could have ended very, very poorly.

You can just see the fellas back there scrambling to safety as their cars fall out from under them.

Ice racing is probably always not the greatest idea in the world, though it's worth pointing out that these guys did check things out beforehand:

"We checked the ice the night before, in one corner it was 16 inches, in the other three corners it was 14 inches," he said. "We won't go on the ice unless it's 10 inches thick."

It hurts the heart to see a speed machine like this sunk up to its bumper:
