Remember that president who started no new wars but had mean tweets? I miss him.

WAR'S BACK ON THE MENU, BOYS!

From The New York Times:

Mr. Biden signed off on the proposal by Defense Secretary Lloyd J. Austin III in early May, officials said. In a statement, Adrienne Watson, the National Security Council spokeswoman, acknowledged the move, saying it would enable "a more effective fight against Al Shabab."

"The decision to reintroduce a persistent presence was made to maximize the safety and effectiveness of our forces and enable them to provide more efficient support to our partners," she said.

Ms. Watson did not indicate the number of troops the military would deploy. But two people familiar with the matter said the figure would be capped at around 450. That will replace a system in which the U.S. troops training and advising Somali and African Union forces have made short stays since Mr. Trump issued what Ms. Watson described as a "precipitous decision to withdraw."

In my entire life, I've only known war. In the last 30 years alone, the Clintons, the Bushes, and the Obama-Biden dream team have been all about starting new American military enterprises around the globe, even though Congress is supposed to have the only power to declare war and hasn't actually done so since 1942.

Let's not forget that we've been sending our boys to die in Somalia since the failed Battle of Mogadishu in 1993, where the famed "Black Hawk Down" incident occurred.

There were 4 years in there though with no new wars. In fact, I remember a certain orange president who was nominated multiple times for the Nobel Peace Prize and brokered peace between Israel and multiple Arab states โ€“ something our political elites said was impossible.

You know, the same political elites now sending $40 billion to war in Ukraine while deploying special operations troops in Somalia to supposedly fight Islamic terrorism (as they willingly support Islamic terrorism in other places like Israel and Iran).

Anyway, that orange guy was gonna start WW3 or something by making fun of Hollywood actors and CNN on Twitter, so it's a good thing we got this new president, who has the interesting strategy of leaving billions in high-tech military equipment to terrorists in some places while ramping up wars in other places.

Smart!
