The Republicans are not going to pass a 1,500-page omnibus bill with a bunch of strings attached, so we've seen a bit of a debacle this week in Congress. First, Speaker Johnson brought a bill to the table with stuff like this included:
I'm sure there was much more cake in there for the establishment to have and eat -- it was 1,500 pages after all. However, that bill is now in effect dead, partially due to the grassroots pushback against it mustered up by the one, the only, Elon Musk, who went as far as threatening to primary Republicans who stood by the giant bill.
(Go ahead and clap.)
That led to a vote on a much smaller bill.
How much smaller?
And, since Elon is actually having an impact on the way our government works, Democrats are starting to become absolutely triggered.
