Two National Guardsmen have been shot in downtown Washington just blocks from the White House, according to multiple officials.
The Metropolitan Police Department said it is on the scene of a shooting at 17th and I streets ...
According to a D.C. police official, there was an active shooter incident at 2:20 p.m. ET at the entrance to the Farragut West Metro station. The suspect is 'down' the official said.
DC police, meanwhile, say "one" suspect is in custody. It is unknown if more people were involved at this time.
