Report: Trump is thinking about eliminating income tax and replacing it with tariffs
· Jun 14, 2024 · NottheBee.com

First, Trump tells Vegas he's not going to tax tips when he gets back into the White House.

Now, at a Capitol Hill Club meeting, The Donald floated the idea of completely eliminating the income tax and replacing it with tariffs.

We're taking an insane amount of income tax off the top of hard-working Americans' salaries. THEN we spend it like a drunken sailor. I mean, we published this 10 days ago:

Taxes are insane AND they only get us through half the year anyways. Then when we're out of the stolen money (the income tax), we start borrowing from other countries.

The Donald's plan would let you keep your money instead of borrowing money from China, but we'd tax Chinese (and other) imports to make up for it. Everything would be more expensive, but you'd get to keep all the cash you earned.

According to the Fake News media, "economists" are not in favor of the plan.

Paul Krugman, the liberal New York Times columnist and winner of the Nobel Prize in economics, gave a quick estimate in a social media post: 'I'll have to write this up in detail, but my first-pass estimate is that this would require an average tariff rate of 133 percent.'

Paul Krugman is against it? That tells me all I need to know.

(He's same guy who thought the internet would peak in 2005 and who predicted a crash the last time Trump was elected.)

Things made overseas may cost a little more, but this would bring domestic manufacturing back to our cities AND we get to keep our entire paycheck.

Who wouldn't take that trade?

We'd also save money because we'd put the IRS out of business!

Win-Win-Win!!!

Let's give it a try.

The 16th Amendment is what gives Congress the right to levy an income tax and to make this change permanent, it would require a repeal. However, this doesn't mean that the United States HAS to require an income tax, and as long as Trump is in office, he could battle to abolish it.

I hope he does it, and I hope we get 5 months of Democrats campaigning FOR the income tax.

We'll see how that works out for them.
