Reminder: Ron DeSantis is still a great governor.
The Florida governor reminded citizens this week that if the pro-illegal immigrant protests come to Florida and if rioters are surrounding your car you are under no obligation to stay there and get killed.
If you're driving on one of those streets and a mob comes and surrounds your vehicle and threatens you, you have a right to flee for your safety. And so if you drive off and you hit one of these people, that's their fault for impinging on you. You don't have to sit there like a sitting duck and let the mob grab you out of your car and drag you through the streets.
Or, as Newsweek put it:
Umm ... you forgot to add the Giga Chad.
Obviously, you saw the clip, that's not what he said.
And the Newsweek writer knows this, by the way.
Yeah, she reached out for comments from DeSantis' office AFTER she published the story!
But apparently this type of reporting is par for the course for the young lady at Newsweek.
Seems to me like Florida is just following common sense.
