Rush Limbaugh's insane Palm Beach compound sells for record-breaking $155 million

The great Rush Limbaugh continues to be larger than life, even in death.

The radio GOAT's long-time Palm Beach home has sold for a whopping $155 million, making it the most expensive home sale in the city known for its uber-wealthy residents. The previous record-holder was Citadel hedge fund boss Ken Griffin, who paid $129.6 million for four parcels last year.

Located on swanky North Ocean Boulevard, El Rushbo's compound has multiple buildings including a massive "main house" built in West Indies style. The property boasts a full 250 feet of ocean frontage with direct beach access.

Believe it or not, Maha Rushie purchased the property for only $3.9 million in 1998 after making the move from New York City to Palm Beach to escape the Big Apple's confiscatory tax rates. He then proceeded to buy neighboring lands and eventually built four additional structures on the property. "For guests."

The Doctor of Democracy himself decorated much of the 24,000-square-foot main mansion, and very uniquely so. A vast salon was inspired by Versailles and a chandelier hung in the dining room was a replica of the one located in New York's Plaza Hotel. The main guest suite is "an exact replica of the Presidential Suite of the Hotel George V in Paris" and the two-story library is a "scaled-down version of the library at the Biltmore Estate in North Carolina."

I hope and trust that the buyer will conserve much of it.

Long live the Professor of the Limbaugh Institute for Advanced Conservative Studies.
