Sanctuary City of New York opens emergency housing center for migrants at Creedmoor Psychiatric Center

This is crazy, you guys.

Over 93,000 migrants have shown up to the Sanctuary City of New York since 2022, which is just a ridiculous number. And now, well, New York just doesn't have room for them anymore — even though they're supposed to be a sanctuary city.

So, needless to say, things have grown pretty desperate in the Big Apple.

How desperate? Well…

Yes, migrants, welcome to America — the land of schizophrenia!

Seriously tho, they're putting up migrants at a psychiatric hospital. Is that as strange to any of you as it is to me?

The Big Apple is opening a large-scale emergency housing facility at the Creedmoor Psychiatric Center in Queens as the city scrambles to find space for the influx of asylum seekers continuing to pour in, Mayor Eric Adams' administration said Wednesday.

The city's newest Humanitarian Emergency Response and Relief Center will be constructed in the parking lot of the state-owned psychiatric center and will cater to approximately 1,000 single adult male migrants.

The state offered up the space for the mega-shelter and will reimburse New York City for the costs to construct, maintain and staff the site, said Anne Williams-Isom, deputy mayor for health and human services, adding the city has already forked over $1.5 billion on the ongoing crisis...

The Creedmoor migrant facility, which is expected to be up and running at some point next month, adds to the 192 emergency sites already set up to handle the relentless flow of asylum seekers.

I guess all that "we're a sanctuary city for illegals" talk has really paid off for ya, Mayor Adams!

Great job here getting these migrants a home.

Question: Will they receive their meds each morning in a little cup, too? Or is that just the patients?

Sorry, I really shouldn't joke like that. Psychiatric hospitals are important, but they're not for illegal immigrants.

Oh, I almost forgot to mention, New York is now evicting some of these migrants as well, which really tells you a lot about how these "sanctuary cities" work.

Mayor Eric Adams' administration handed down 100 eviction-like notices to migrants who have stayed in the city's taxpayer-funded shelters the longest.

The first of the notices issued under City Hall's new 60-day shelter stay limit — which officials say were needed to help free up space for migrant families with children — were handed out this week to single adults…

Although City Hall did not say how long these individuals have been staying in the various migrant shelters — or disclose their locations — Adams has complained about the shelters being full to their "breaking point" since last fall.

So, Mayor Adams, tell me more about how this whole sanctuary city thing works. I'd really like to know. Like, are you just a temporary crutch for migrants to make it into the U.S., or are you actually taking these people in?

I mean, you don't just invite people to your city and then kick them out, do you?

That doesn't seem very progressive.

And shacking them up at a psychiatric hospital?

Come on, man!

That ain't no progress!
