It is with great relief that I open here by telling you that this little girl's injuries were not life threatening.

Watch as a coyote sneaks into the scene and takes on this toddler while the adults remain entranced by the ocean waves, luckily noticing the attack after about 15 seconds.

Oh man.

Scary stuff.

What were those adults thinking allowing the child out of their vision like that?

They're lucky the coyote didn't run off with her.

Also, why in the world are these people at the beach with a child at such a late hour? Seems strange.

As I noted above, the girl's injuries were not life threatening, though they were serious. She was rushed to the hospital and is currently being treated for her injuries. We wish her the best in her recovery.

Officers shot and killed two coyotes nearby after the attack, but it is not known whether either of them was the one from the video.
