Scientists at the Large Hadron Collider just discovered three unknown subatomic particles and I bet one is a microscopic life form that tells us the will of the Force

There is still just an unthinkable amount we don't know about the way the universe works—but at least we can cross three more particle classifications off the list!

Scientists working with the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) have discovered three subatomic particles never seen before as they work to unlock the building blocks of the universe, the European nuclear research centre CERN said on Tuesday. ...

Now scientists at CERN say they have observed a new kind of "pentaquark" and the first-ever pair of "tetraquarks", adding three members to the list of new hadrons found at the LHC.

They will help physicists better understand how quarks bind together into composite particles.

"Quarks" are one of the particles that build hadrons (hence the name of the machine), which form neutrons and protons when stable. If you remember high school physics, neutrons and protons make atoms and atoms make up, well, everything.

I have no idea how these new subatomic discoveries work, but here's hoping that one is a microscopic life form that continually speaks to us, telling us the will of the Force.
