There's digging a hole deeper, and then there's … this:

Kira Cousins is a 22-year-old Scottish woman from just outside of Glasgow who fooled her whole family, including the "father" of the child, into thinking she was actually pregnant.

I wasn't pregnant. There was no baby. I made it up and kept it going way too far. I faked scans, messages, a whole birth story, and acted like a doll was a real baby.

Cousins bought a prosthetic baby bump, posted pregnancy pics, and had a baby shower to celebrate the fake child, receiving thousands of dollars' worth of gifts.

She then bought a robotic doll, named it "Bonnie-Leigh Joyce," and claimed she had given birth alone on October 10.

Amazingly, she was able to continue the ruse EVEN AFTER THE BABY WAS BORN, though people started to get suspicious when the "baby" never cried and Cousins wouldn't let people hold "her." She also claimed the "child" had a heart condition.

When she couldn't keep Jamie from asking questions any more, she apparently told him the "child" had died.

The scheme was only discovered when Cousin's mother came to her house and found the doll in her room. Cousin's relatives then gathered to confront her at her house.

Here is a testimony from one of her friends:

Since the story went viral, Cousin has apologized to her boyfriend Jamie, and said she simply didn't know how to stop once she had started lying.

Praying she gets the help she needs … and kept the receipts for all those gifts. 😬
