In fact, did you know, the Pentagon has NEVER passed an audit?
Well, there's a new sheriff in town. And Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth is done with it.
Here he is informing his employees that the audits are coming and, by the time his four years are up, they will be passing their audits.
We are going to focus heavily to ensure that, at a bare minimum by the end of four years, the Pentagon passes a clean audit. The American taxpayers deserve that. They deserve to know where their $850 billion go, how it's spent, and to make sure it's spent wisely.
It used to be said that if you called for an audit you were undermining the department. I believe in the exact opposite. I believe we are accountable for every dollar we spend.
