The Republicans in the House keep teasing us with a government shutdown if they don't get something or another.

However, they never follow through.

Somehow the government keeps opening back up, costing us trillions of dollars.

Even now, the Republicans are bickering over a $886 billion spending bill with a government shutdown looming.

But there's an interesting new incentive to passing the bill. Senator John Fetterman has offered to wear a suit to work if Republicans pass the $886 billion bill and keep the government open while fully supporting Ukraine.

I'm torn here.

Ever since Chuck Schumer made everyday casual Friday in the Senate so that John Fetterman could keep wearing shorts and hoodies to work, I've been railing about decorum and dignity in our legislature.

On the other hand, if the choice is between going another $886 billion into debt and watching our Senators parade around in their gym clothes, well...

Let me count the reasons I want to see John Fetterman keep wearing shorts to work:
