As more details about the assassination attempt on former president Donald Trump come to light, the Secret Service looks worse and worse.
Check out this video of Senator Josh Hawley (R-MO) detailing his talks with Secret Service whistleblowers:
So a lot of the protective agents weren't Secret Service at all, they were Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) agents, and all the training they got for the protective detail was a glitchy Powerpoint presentation.
Here is the letter Hawley sent to acting Secret Service Director Ronald Rowe Jr. with more detail.
To quote the whistleblower directly: "Imagine 1,000 people logging onto Microsoft Teams at the same time after being informed at the last minute that everyone needed to login individually. Once it got rolling, the Secret Service instructor couldn't figure out how to get the audio working on the prerecorded videos (which I'm told are the same videos as last year). All told, they restarted the videos approximately six times .... The content was not helpful." Worse, the whistleblower alleges the Secret Service has not changed, updated, or otherwise improved its webinar "trainings" since the assassination attempt in Butler, Pennsylvania. In the words of the whistleblower, "Nothing new, nothing improved since the assassination attempt on former President Trump."
I mean who in the working world hasn't had one of those meetings at this point?
I can barely log into email after one of those shoddy presentation much less protect the former president from an assassin's bullet.
It's hard to believe our national security isn't taken more serious than a corporate town-hall meeting.
Hawley's right.
More people need to be fired over this.
