Wokeness comes for everything. It never stops. And among the brands of wokeness, transgenderism is particularly relentless. Transgender ideology has infiltrated just about every form of media being made today.
Including, now, the Harry Potter franchise:
The soon-to-be-released "Hogwarts Legacy" game — set in J.K. Rowling's Wizarding World of more than 100 years ago — will include the franchise's first transgender character.
The new Harry Potter-based open-world role-playing game, which is set in the 1800s Wizarding World created by Rowling, introduces players to Sirona Ryan, the proprietor of the Three Broomsticks pub in the game's Hogsmeade Village — who informs players that her classmates took some time to realize that she "was actually a witch, not a wizard." Nothing can quite prepare you for how this plays out in-game. Here's how they rendered Harry Potter's "first transgender character":
I mean, that's clearly a dude. They didn't even try to hide it.
Which is kind of funny, given that within the Harry Potter mythology they have spells and potions that can comprehensively alter one's appearance (and presumably one's voice too). I.e., Polyjuice Potion:
It's kind of ridiculous to think that this character couldn't utilize some Polyjuice to make himself look slightly less mannish. And maybe a charm to make that voice sound a little less like a man's. It's almost as if they really, really want to beat you over the head with this ideology.
Of course, that's almost certainly the point:
The evident appearance of a trans character in the Wizarding World is significant, given that Rowling has generated widespread controversy over the last few years for making comments that many have perceived as anti-trans.
Those "anti-trans" comments include demands that female prisoners are not housed with men, as well as broader statements pointing out that women are vulnerable to male violence and that we should not allow men to "self-identify" as women in order to obscure that reality.
So yeah I think they're thumbing their noses at the series creator with this.
