It's the certainty that gets me. The complete and total conviction that he is right, and that his assessment is unassailable.
The insufferable pomposity with which he says it is just the cherry on top.
Making predictions is always a hazardous endeavor, and to be fallible is to be human.
But believing yourself to be immune to error or mistake is not only arrogant, but it's also dangerous.
Had President Trump taken John Kerry's advice, there would be no peace agreements in the Middle East. And without peace, the possibility of war is always in the offing.
Just to recap:
"There will be no separate peace between Israel and the Arab world.
I want to make that very clear to all of you."
"I've heard several prominent politicians in Israel sometimes saying well, the Arab world is in a different place now, we just have to reach out to them.
No, no, no and no."
"There will be no advanced and separate peace with the Arab world without the Palestinian process
Everybody needs to understand that."
"That is a hard reality."
