Guys, I'm having a little trouble figuring out the joke behind this Babylon Bee headline. Maybe y'all can help me out.
Is the joke that there is a Barbie on the Supreme Court? Or that liberals are taking legal advice from Barbies?
Wait... You mean to tell me this is NOT The Bee?
The Messenger is a lefty outlet brought to you by people who used to be at The Hill and Hollywood Reporter and apparently they thought it was really relevant to interview the lady that played "Supreme Court Justice Barbie" about the Dobbs decision.
Although the Barbie actress tells The Messenger it felt "so powerful" playing Supreme Court Justice Barbie, she admits that SCOTUS is "such a loaded" topic for her in the wake of last year's Roe v. Wade decision.
"I think I have a very emotional relationship with Roe v. Wade, and I'm sure most women do," says Kayne a little more than a year after the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade and the constitutional right to abortion access.
Cruz is an actress who is pretending to be the Supreme Court Justice in a BARBIE MOVIE!
Talk about self-important Hollywood types!
Even if she played a REAL Supreme Court Justice her opinion would be worthless. But the fact that she plays a BARBIE DOLL judge just makes her opinion extra worthless.
"I always play a lawyer," she says. "I am a woman who, I guess, projects justice. It might be my deep voice, I have no idea."
This lady... who plays a Barbie doll... says that she "projects justice" because... she has a deep voice.
"I talk like a dude so I guess people take me seriously hee hee!"
Honestly, I'd expect a more serious answer from a REAL Barbie doll.
"It was just so powerful to get to sit there as a woman of color, as the head of the Supreme Court," Kayne continues. "It was everything you'd hope for. And because it's Barbie, it's power with a wink. So it felt very fitting. And so, I was honored… Your Honor."
I... I just don't have any more words for this.
This is probably the stupidest thing I've seen from anything surrounding this Barbie movie. And that includes a dude who thinks he's a chick playing a doctor.
