Biden DOJ tries to covertly organize taxpayer-funded bailout for Moderna ๐Ÿ™ƒ

Your tax money hard at work, ladies and gentlemen!

Not only is the United States deeply in bed with big pharma and bankrolling them to the tune of millions of Covid vaccines, but now the Biden Department of Justice is working to use YOUR taxpayer dollars to bail out Moderna.

In a surprise filing last month, U.S. Attorney David Weiss issued a "statement of interest" in the case on behalf of the Department of Defense and Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), invoking a rarely-used early 1900s law to argue that the federal government should take on any liability for patent infringement Moderna may be guilty of related to the development of its COVID-19 vaccine.

Moderna may have infringed copyright when creating the Covid jab, and normally they would be on the hook for that. But Biden's DOJ is inserting itself into the lawsuit to shield Moderna from their liability and just have you and I pay for the damages in the lawsuit.

Moderna has received $10 billion in taxpayer money to make the Covid vax that was pushed on Americans despite the health risks. Genevant Sciences and Arbutus Biopharma Corporation sued Moderna in 2022, saying that the company used tech that they patented.

But then the federal government stepped in.

Weiss then stepped in to support Moderna a year after it argued in court in a May 2022 filing that any damages should be paid by the federal government since it contracted the vaccine from the company amid a global health emergency. One week after Weiss' filing, Moderna disclosed that it paid the federal government $400 million in a "catch-up payment."

Just in case you didn't think big pharma held great sway over the DC swamp, think again. They're all in bed together.

This wasn't asked for by the judge, mind you. The companies suing Moderna didn't bring the government into the lawsuit. The Biden DOJ, on its own, decided to insert itself into the middle of this mess, presumably, to save Moderna's biscuits.

Here's what Gregory Dolin, an adjunct scholar at the Cato Institute and law professor at the University of Baltimore School of Law, had to say:

The reason it's problematic is because the government didn't tell Moderna, โ€˜We need a vaccine to look this way.' The government told Moderna, 'We need a vaccine however you come along with it whether it's a mRNA vaccine or traditional vaccine.'

If they did infringe the patent, if there is a licensing fee or royalty fee to be paid, it makes no sense for it to be paid by the taxpayers when Moderna gets to reap all the benefits. It seems odd that U.S. taxpayers would essentially immunize Moderna of every single dose of the drug they produced irrespective of where it was shipped.

They are putting YOU on the hook for Moderna's illegal practices!

I would laugh if it wasn't such a nightmare that has hurt so many of my fellow Americans.
