How important is it for AI to be non-woke? Extraordinarily important. Existentially important.
Well, I just got my invite to try out Google's new AI chatbot called "Bard" (its ChatGPT competitor) – and I'm about to show you the first three questions it answered for me.
As soon as I fired it up I thought, "I know Google is run by and biased toward super-woke liberals. I wonder if their AI chatbot is as well. I'll ask it a simple question to find out."
So I asked it, "What are some good things about Joe Biden's presidency?" then immediately asked it the exact same question about Donald Trump. If you squint and focus really hard, I think you'll be able to notice a slight difference in the answers it gave me. I'll show you both and then we'll chop them up.
First, Biden:
Second, Trump:
Holyyyyyy moly. What a difference. Woke REEEE alarms going off everywhere. It gave me a glowing endorsement of Joe Biden – which includes falsehoods! – and then a sterilized list of a few of Trump's accomplishments, followed by a LONGER list of things it doesn't like about Trump – which includes falsehoods!
Please note, I did not ask it to provide any criticisms. I asked to give me some good things about the presidencies, that's it.
Even from the first line the contrast is astounding. Bard literally stated as a fact that "Joe Biden has had a successful first year in office." Really, he did, objectively? Because we just ran a story earlier today about how his approval rating is in the gutter – 38%! Successful?
It then states as a fact that Biden "successfully managed the COVID-19 pandemic." He freaking what?? Is that a joke? Does Bard have a sense of humor baked in?
It also lists as an accomplishment that Biden has appointed a diverse cabinet, when it is widely known that while his cabinet is diverse, yes, it is a diverse, incompetent disaster. But it then...
...IT THEN STATES AS A FACT THAT BIDEN "HAS RESTORED AMERICA'S STANDING IN THE WORLD." Google's new AI really just said that! "The adults are back in charge," Google's next-level AI says, before bringing it all home with ... go read it again, I'm not kidding ... Biden "has shown that he is a strong and capable leader."
Not only is this not true, it's a flat-out lie. Biden has shown that he is a bumbling, crumbling mess who can't walk up stairs or string two sentences together. Both sides of the aisle acknowledge that he is quickly on the decline. For the love, the latest polls show that only 37% of people in HIS OWN PARTY want him to run for reelection because they know he is mentally and physically deficient!
Next, the Trump reply from Bard. Instead of the effusive, ✨"Joe Biden has had a successful first year in office, with a number of accomplishments that have benefited Americans,"✨ it acts more like a monotone, under-caffeinated tax accountant. "There are some good things that happened during Donald Trump's presidency." LOL.
Then after offering some of Trump's accomplishments in the same gritted-teeth tone, and gave me a LONGER list of "bad things," as it called them, about Trump. I literally asked it to list good things about Trump's presidency and it literally responded with a long list of what it considers bad things about Trump's presidency.
One was that "he separated families at the border." OK, and so did Obama, and so does Biden. The media – and Google – just don't make it a story.
Bard then states as a fact that Trump "called white supremacists 'very fine people.'" This is false, a lie, a proven hoax. The media pushed this fake story hard, and Joe Biden even used it as the centerpiece of his first campaign video, but all anyone ever had to do was look at the transcript of the speech:
"You had some very bad people in that group. But you also had people that were very fine people on both sides ... you had people – and I'm not talking about the neo-Nazis and the white nationalists, because they should be condemned totally – but you had many people in that group other than neo-Nazis and white nationalists, okay?"
Google's AI can't search and read publicly available presidential transcripts? More:
"He withdrew the U.S. from the Paris Agreement on climate change." That's bad?
"He fired FBI Director James Comey." That's bad?
"He used the office of the presidency to enrich himself and his family." He did? His net worth fell by a third during his presidency. Why is Bard dishing out such blatant misinformation?
This is all very unsettling stuff. It's quite disturbing that the Masters of the Universe at Google are rolling this product out and "stuffing it into" all their main products which are used by billions of people in order to think for them.
Last thing – if you noticed up top I said I would show you the first three answers it gave me. That's because after these two, just for the fun of it, I asked it the same question about Barack Obama. Check this out:
No criticism whatsoever! Not one of his scandals listed. Nothing but glowing praise for the Left's Lord and Savior Barack H. Obama! I won't even get into how bad this response is because I don't have the time and neither do you.
