It'll take a lot more than a little fear of starvation to get Texans to eat artificial beef.

The insanely cold temperatures have been causing all kinds of problems around the country, especially in states like Texas that are built for much balmier degrees.

It's a scary time. And I'm not trying to make light of that. But you have to appreciate the humor in this. Even as fear and desperation has driven people to clearing out supermarket shelves, one item appears to be almost entirely untouched.

And it seems this does not bode well for Bill Gates' master plan for fake meats...

It's probably mostly the exorbitant price and unfamiliarity with products like Beyond Beef that is keeping hungry people away. Cuz, too be fair, if you've ever tasted any of these faux meats before they really aren't half bad.
