A 39-year old Spanish man died last week when he got stuck inside a giant stegosaurus in a town outside Barcelona.
No, this wasn't due to a new Jurassic Park attraction on the Iberian Peninsula, but a papier-mâché replica the man became stuck inside after he reportedly dropped his phone:
A police spokeswoman said a father and son found the body upside down in the statue's hollow leg at least several days after the man had died.
A father and son noticed that there was something inside and raised the alarm. We found the body of a man inside the leg of this dinosaur statue. It's an accidental death; there was no violence. This person got inside the statue's leg and got trapped. It looks as though he was trying to retrieve a mobile phone, which he'd dropped. It looks like he entered the statue head first and couldn't get out.
The statue has now been removed.
What a horrible way to go.
Please don't go climbing inside ancient creatures, either real or fake. That is all.
