This should've been an SNL sketch but somehow it's an actual thing that's happening in South Korea.

People were literally bringing their desktop computers and printers with them to Starbucks and treating the place like it was their basement with a barista.

And honestly...

A Starbucks spokesperson told Fortune,

Starbucks Korea has updated its policy so all customers can have a pleasant and accessible store experience. While laptops and smaller personal devices are welcome, customers are asked to refrain from bringing desktop computers, printers, or other bulky items that may limit seating and impact the shared space.

Imagine your perfect workplace being stolen from you because Starbucks thinks your desktop computer, your keyboard, your mouse, your printer, your 3-hole punch, your laminator, and your extra monitor are too much for a 30-inch-diameter table.

People have for a long time gathered at cafes in South Korea, but as more people are working remote after Covid-19 they've seen a boom in cagongjok, or people who use the cafe as a workplace.

Welp, party's over, cagongjok.

Pack it up and find another place to build your office.
