Franco Harris, the famed Pittsburgh Steelers running back and hall-of-famer died overnight last night at the age of 72.
His passing came just days before the 50th anniversary of the "Immaculate Reception" one of the most famous plays in football history where Franco Harris scooped up a tipped pass from Terry Bradshaw right before it hit the ground and ran the football in for the impossible score.
Harris was a 4-time Super Bowl winner and hall of fame running back and one of the most beloved Steelers of all time.
Harris was to be honored on the 50th anniversary of the Immaculate Reception game, where the Steelers were going to officially retire his number.
