Not only does their ignorance showcase a lack of understanding of why the military exists (to kill enemies of your nation), but it provides an interesting insight into male versus female perception.
In general, inclusion, tolerance, and kindness are characteristics that help hold female relationships, networks, and institutions together. This is essential for a civilization to operate.
But male relationships, networks, and institutions do not work this way (though they are equally as important). A good man yearns for struggle, risk, competition, and challenge. He does not want empathy: He wants a dangerous quest.
This makes men (trigger warning) different from women. They are clumsy in certain areas that women excel, but they are great in other areas.
Like killing bad guys to protect their families.
Do these TV hosts realize that war is hell?
Put another way, do they understand that Pete Hegseth is trying to prepare America's warfighters for hell?
Think of the bloody horrors our heroes have to endure so that the ladies of "The View" can safely gossip on TV.
