"The View" hosts are, of course, famously known for their calm, balanced political takes — and Sunny Hostin fits right in. In her latest moment of "brilliance," she claims that requiring an ID to vote would somehow prevent many black people and women from voting (a tired DNC talking point).

WATCH:

She goes on to compare voter ID laws to "post-slavery laws," where black people had to "prove their right to vote," leading to many not voting because they couldn't "pass some crazy test."

... oh the irony.

Then she claims it will affect married women because — well, you know — last names change and their passport might not match their driver's license.

And for the grand finale, she claims that "fewer voter ID laws mean more people get to vote," adding that most democracies supposedly don't have voter ID laws.

I'm not exactly sure what she means by "most democracies" (and I doubt she knows either), but here's a running list of 46 'democratic' nations that do require voter ID:

Huh.
