Alternate title: "The Nurse Who Saved Christmas."
He was making a list,
He was checking it twice,
Should have worn a mask,
And taken our advice,
From our friends across the pond at NHS Charities Together, a heart-warming tale of sickness, dread, and fear-mongering.
Gather 'round, kids, let's all watch Santa struggle with a deadly illness!
(Click below to be taken to the video.)
Officially titled "The Gift," the person responsible for the score was quite proud of it. Delighted, even!
Gordon Ramsay even thought it was "a powerful story."
But then, Gordon Ramsay is 54 years old.
You can click on that second link for a one-minute clip,... or could at the time this was originally published. As you can see it is no longer available having been deleted by both Birdy and Ramsay.
Not to worry, they can clean up after themselves all they want. We still have an image of the tweet.
And of course, it's gone from YouTube.
Surprisingly enough, not everyone thought that the best way to raise money for our healthcare workers was to depict Santa knocking on death's door.
NHS Charities Together issued a statement in the aftermath.
"We worked closely with the team behind the ad to make sure it was produced responsibly and it was cleared for use by the relevant regulatory authority."
We crossed our Ts and dotted our Is!
"However, we are sorry to the parents of any young children who have been upset by watching the ad and to the young children themselves, they were not the intended audience for it."
Who was the intended audience? Other than singer-songwriters and celebrity chefs, I mean.
And there was this today, a Christmas video with the exact same title as their ill-fated entrant only Santa is not unconscious and fighting for his life.
Deflection much?
In fairness, this was their first Christmas video, and we all know how first tries tend to go.
Better luck next time, NHS Charities Together. Maybe next time you can make rabbit stew out of the Easter Bunny.
