Survey: The average American feels 10 years older than they really are

Man, am I the only one whose back hurts just reading this headline?

A new survey of 2,000 Americans distributed evenly across generations shows that the average American feels 10 years older than they actually are. And most are blaming it on joint pain.

A majority of Americans, 85%, experience some sort of joint pain, half of those don't realize there is a direct correlation between increased muscle strength and reduced joint pain when in fact there is.

Less than half, 47%, feel optimistic about finding lasting relief.

Everyone's back, knees, ankles, and elbows hurt. And most people don't even think that exercise can help.

Nearly half are completely hopeless.

Guys, I don't know if this says more about Americans' obesity, American education, or just how lazy the average American appears to be. People are hurting, feel 10 years or older than they are, and are just resigned to being permanently miserable.

Baby Boomers felt an average of 14 years older while Silent Generation respondents reported feeling 12 years older than their actual age, and Gen Xers said they felt 10 years older on average.

At a time when "60 is the new 40" all the sixty-year-olds feel like they're 74 😭
This is just sad.

Forty-five percent have had to stop doing the things they love because of joint pain, and 23% feel they've let others down by missing personal or professional commitments due to joint pain.

Knee pain specifically affects about 40% of Americans, many of whom have had to reconsider substantial lifestyle changes to accommodate their lack of mobility, including where they live (25%), where they work (22%), and how they travel (17%).

Guys, we need to start losing weight. We're destroying our knees. And, for the sportsmen who have hurt their knees in athletic pursuit, you can't just give up on them.

Why are Americans destroying their joints?

98% of those surveyed who had knee pain said that they would feel better about their future if they could just kick the pain.

There's a simple, but not easy, solution: Build up muscle and stop being lazy!
